About Braddon

The Braddon electorate is a rural electorate located on Tasmania's picturesque north west coast.  

With an area of 20,826 Sq km and 72,529 electors enrolled (at July 2016), it includes the cities of Burnie and Devonport, King Island, and the towns Latrobe, Penguin, Queenstown, Rosebery, Smithton, Somerset, Stanley, Strahan, Ulverstone, Waratah, Wynyard and Zeehan.

Forestry, fishing, aquaculture, kelp harvesting, dairying, beef cattle production, and vegetable, poppy and pyrethrum growing are major primary industries. Vegetable processing, cheese manufacture, sawmilling and woodchipping complement these activities. Mining and tourism are major industries in Braddon, and there are two major ports that service domestic and international shipping located in Burnie and Devonport.
