North West and West Coast Local Government bodies and not for profit organisations are able to apply for funding through the Commonwealth Government’s Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF)

Federal Member for Braddon said “The fund focusses on projects in rural areas which will grow and build stronger, more sustainable regions.

The fund has two streams through which applications can be received:

- Infrastructure Projects between $20,000 - $10 million, such as the construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas;

- Community Investments between $5,000 - $10 million like community activities, new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, and leadership and capability strengthening activities

I am aware of a number of local projects that could benefit from this funding including the Cradle Mountain Masterplan, a shared network of coastal pathways and Wynyard waterfront masterplan.

For most projects, grant funding will be up to 50 per cent or up to 75 per cent of your eligible project costs. Your location will determine the percentage of grant funding you can receive.
