EDUCATION MINISTER BOWS TO PRESSURE ON EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION SERVICES

October 18, 2017

Federal Member for Braddon, Justine Keay is pleased that the Liberal State Government has finally supported the continuation of Early Childhood Intervention Services.

“The decision to retain these services by the Minister is due to continued pressure from the community and State and Federal Labor.

“I cannot understand why it has taken so long for the Liberal Government to reach a position that was obvious from the outset.

“Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) since July have been left in limbo due to the Minister responsible dragging his feet and families suffered as a result.

“ECIS will now be funded until 2020 and Labor is pleased that these crucial services will continue to play such an important role.

“Labor, both state and federal, will continue to fight for what’s right in education at all levels to ensure that every child has the chance to achieve their potential.”
