A Shorten Labor Government will provide $20,000 to support upgrades to playground equipment on the West Coast.
Labor Candidate for Braddon Justine Keay said, “This funding will improve playgrounds and skate parks right across the West coast.
“Playing is how children learn and grow. Play spaces are important places in our community that bring people together.
“I care about people on the West coast - that’s why we want to ensure playgrounds and outdoor recreation areas are safe and able to be enjoyed by everybody.
“There are many young families that call Queenstown and the West coast home and there will be many more people in the future.
“Having quality playgrounds that are accessible is so important to a family’s health and wellbeing.
“This investment in the West Coast Playspace Improvement Program will involve replacing ageing equipment with the latest sensory equipment, above all it will encourage people to take their children out to play.
“I have been working with people in Queenstown and right throughout the West coast on this and I’m delighted to make this commitment today.
Justine Keay and Labor will stand up for a fair go for Braddon.
